Position Summary Reporting to the Manager of Pass Powderkeg Ski Area, Events and Marketing Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating, booking and administrative management for groups, race training, and special events, while also developing and growing these business streams. This role coordinates with multiple departments to support the delivery and administration of programs. In addition to managing bookings, this position will assist with marketing initiatives, sponsorships, newsletters, and graphic design projects. The incumbent will be an enthusiastic, professional, and team-oriented individual eager to make a meaningful impact at a small but vibrant ski area. |

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a Pass Powderkeg Ski Area and Municipality of Crowsnest ambassador, showcasing passion and energy for our operations and area.
- Professionally responds in a timely fashion to all group, sponsorship or race training booking enquiries
- Assist with answering phones and emails for enquiries
- Participate in leadership meetings
- Actively search out and engage with local community for event sponsorships and promotions
- Set up guest booking portals online
- Book, take payment and answer questions for all group and race training bookings
- Welcome groups and assist with the on premise logistics, which may include assisting in other departments during busy times
- Manage waiver signing for bookings as required
- Continually develop and enhance procedures for booking, risk management and payments
- Communicate booking requirements to impacted departments in a timely manner
- Manage event bookings as required
- Invoice groups and programs accordingly
- Provide timely reports to the Manager regarding bookings and revenue
- Assist with event logistics, including budget, staffing and day of planning
- Attend promotional events, set up and tear down booth and answer questions
- Set up safety fencing and event supplies on an as needed basis
- Assist with other operational departments as needed
- Create marketing materials for events and advertising spaces on-hill
- Prepare and post Facebook and Instagram stories regularly in alignment with Municipal standards
- Set up TV slideshows and other internal marketing materials
- Assist with other related duties as assigned and required.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Able to problem solve and come to solutions that create “win-win” situations for both our guests and Pass Powderkeg.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of ski area products
- Able to identify, plan and execute opportunities that fit within the operation and mandate.
- Able to understand industry and market trends that present opportunities and adapt accordingly.
- Able to communicate internally and externally
- Superior customer service skills, a positive team-oriented attitude and ability to adapt quickly to evolving situations.
- Knowledge of ski racing an asset.
- Knowledge of ski area events an asset.
Education and Experience
- Minimum – High School diploma
- Preferred – College or University diploma/degree in business, management, ski resort operations or tourism.
- 2 years’ experience in guest service required
- Experience with Microsoft Office products required
Working Conditions
The work is performed mainly indoors with some on-snow work expected. Indoor work is typically performed in an office environment involving periods of sitting, good lighting and low noise. Outdoor work is performed in all weather conditions, including cold, wind, snow and rain. The work is occasionally physically strenuous and regularly requires the incumbent to ski/snowboard, bend, kneel and carry equipment.
