Pass Powderkeg (PPK) is now accepting applications for the 2025/2026 Winter Season

The target operating season is December through late March, with regular operations Wednesday through Sunday, and extended hours during holiday periods.

We have a variety of positions and offer both full and part time work. Applicants must be at least 15 years of age by their start date. All applicants over 18 will also need to provide an acceptable criminal records check.

Pass Powderkeg does not have staff housing so candidates that are not local must arrange for their own accommodations. 

Interviews will begin in late September and will be conducted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled. Early applications are encouraged.


Available Positions


LIFT OPERATORS

Lift Operators play a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Safely loading/unloading guests on t-bars/handle tow
  • Checking tickets
  • Answering guest inquiries
  • Maintaining a friendly and positive atmosphere

This is an outdoor position and requires physical labor such as lifting, pulling T-bars, and shoveling snow.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in ski area operations
  • Experience in customer service
  • Current First Aid Certification

SNOW PATROL

Snow Patrol ensures the safety of guests and staff by:

  • Acting as first responders in emergencies
  • Monitoring and reporting trail conditions
  • Managing trail closures and signage
  • Supporting the Mountain Safety program

Required Qualifications:

  • Current 80-hour First Aid certification
  • Strong skiing ability and physical fitness

SNOW SCHOOL INSTRUCTORS

Instructors deliver professional ski or snowboard lessons tailored to each guest’s needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring guest safety
  • Providing personalized, technical instruction
  • Creating a positive and engaging learning environment

Required Certification:

  • CASI or CSIA Level 1 (minimum)

Assets:

  • CASI or CSIA Level 2, 3, or 4
  • CASI/CSIA Park Instructor
  • CFSA Club Coach / CSCF Entry Level Coach or higher
  • Interpretive Guides Association – Apprentice or higher
  • Outdoor Council Canada – Field Leader (Winter)
  • Current First Aid Certification

LITTLE CUBS ATTENDANT

Based in the Lions Den Yurt, Little Cubs Attendants facilitate programming for young children. Duties include:

  • Supervising children
  • Playing games and facilitating beginner ski lessons
  • Signing children in and out
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in outdoor or recreational settings
  • Clean criminal record and vulnerable sector check
  • Current First Aid Certification

Assets:

  • Early Childhood Development certification
  • CSIA/CASI certification
  • Post-secondary education in education, child development, tourism, or outdoor leadership

RENTAL AND REPAIR TECHNICIANS

Technicians assist guests with ski, snowboard, and snowshoe rentals, including:

  • Proper fitting and equipment maintenance
  • Completing rental agreements and waivers
  • Supporting snow school and guest services as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

Assets:

  • Experience in a ski/snowboard tech shop
  • Rental adjustment certifications
  • Current First Aid Certification

SNOWMAKERS (early season work)

Snowmakers are responsible for:

  • Operating and maintaining snowmaking equipment
  • Monitoring machines, hydrants, and snow lines
  • Assisting with snow creation across the mountain

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (in good standing)
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and hours 

Assets:

  • Current First Aid Certification

GUEST SERVICES REPRESENTITIVES

Guest Services staff are the face of Pass Powderkeg, responsible for:

  • Ticket, lesson, and rental sales
  • Providing resort information
  • Booking winter activities and managing general inquiries

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Experience in a customer-facing role

Assets:

  • Front desk or retail/sales experience
  • Sales experience at a ski hill or snow school
  • Post-secondary education in recreation, hospitality, or business
  • Current First Aid Certification
