Position Summary
Under the direction of the Pool Programmer, Guest Services positions answer inquiries, sell passes, support bookings, accept payment and sell concession items while providing friendly, helpful and positive customer service. These roles also perform a variety of cleaning duties related to the pool facility. |
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Provides guests with a positive and welcoming experience when they come to the pool.

Provides information about pool programming and passes to visitors.

Sells passes, lessons and concession items to the visitors and processes debit/credit and cash transactions.

Answers the phone and uses the computer for administering programs and services.

Completes opening and closing procedures.

Administers the registration process.

Accepts payment and ensures daily cash outs are balanced at the end of the day.

Ensures cleanliness and daily maintenance of the work area including the lobby, changerooms and entry area.

Maintains records and documentation required as part of the due diligence process.

Processes waivers as required.

Helps with other tasks as delegated by the Pool Programmer.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are required to handle and resolve visitor requests.
- Ability to work with computer programs and MS Office Suite.
- Experience and ability to work with a point of sale system
- Friendly and approachable with a positive team attitude.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
- Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Standard First Aid (SFA) or Aquatic Emergency Care (AEC)
- Some customer service experience
- Experience handling cash
- WHMIS
- Must be 15+ years of age
Independence and Scope of Impact
Decisions or actions could result in some losses of time or resources.
Contacts
Internal – Regular contacts are maintained with the Pool Programmer, Junior and Senior Guards involving the exchange of information.
External – Regular contacts are maintained with the general public, community groups, and volunteers involving the exchange of information for planning and delivering programs, services, and events.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No supervision of others required.
Working Conditions
The work is performed in a typical outdoors and in the office and front counter area of the Pass Pool. The position will require work in evenings and on weekends.
